STRANGE...Boy Kills Sister Using Wrestling Moves Learned On TV

Viloude Louis, who was allegedly killed by her 13-year-old brother when he performed wrestling moves on her that he had seen on TV.
Vilger Louis talks about his daughter Viloude, dead after suffered multiple injuries after her half-brother allegedly beat her.
A young teen beat his little half-sister to death using wrestling moves he’d copied from the TV, police claim.

Devalon Armstrong, 13, is accused of repeatedly slamming Viloude Louis, 5, onto a bed, punching her in the stomach, jumping on her back and elbow-dropping into her kidneys.

She suffered broken ribs, internal bleeding and liver lacerations from the brutal bashing at their Terrytown, Louisiana, home.

Cops say Armstrong was babysitting his younger sibling on Sunday afternoon when he decided to test out some moves he’d seen on World Wrestling Entertainment.

Later complaining of having a stomach ache, she went upstairs to brush her teeth — before being found by her brother 30 minutes later in crippling pain on the bathroom floor.

Realizing she was no longer breathing, Armstrong took her downstairs to the sofa and dialed 911.
Paramedics arrived on the scene but found her unresponsive. She was pronounced dead soon after.

As there were no outward signs of injury, Louis’s death was at first deemed “unclassified.”

But a coroner’s report released on Tuesday found she had died of multiple injuries.

Armstrong, who reportedly confessed to carrying out the moves, was arrested later that day on suspicion of second-degree murder.

He is currently being held at a juvenile detention center, reports The Times-Picayune.

Psychiatrists will now evaluate whether Armstrong is mentally able to participate in his own defense. A hearing is scheduled for next month.

By IKECHUKWU NNOCHIRI... Hezbollah: Jonathan met our leader at Aso Rock, Lebanese suspects tell Court

By IKECHUKWU NNOCHIRI, Abuja
Three suspected Lebanese terrorists, Mustapha Roda Darwish Fawaz, Talal Roda, and Abdulla Tahini, alleged to have imported arms into the country  yesterday, told a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja that a prominent member of their group identified as, Hussein Hajj once met and shook hands with President Goodluck Jonathan.
The suspects, including the co-owner of Amigo Supermarket and Wonderland resort in Abuja, Fawaz, who were alleged to be members of Hezbollah terrorist organisation, further told the court that the large cache of arms recovered from them by the Military Joint Task Force, JTF, were mere hunting-riffles, insisting that the Nigerian government has no right to curtail their fundamental human rights on the allegation that they constitute threat to its national security.

A Delegation From From Left, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Dammajen Kano, President Goodluck Jonathan, Alhaji Ahmed Ado Bayero, Dan Buram Kano during a visit to President Photos–State House.
The weapons recovered from a bunker at  3 Gaya Road, off Bompai Street, Kano, following a search by a combined team of the JTF including soldiers from 3-Brigade and the Department of State Services, DSS, on the bunker, included anti-tank weapons, rocket-propelled guns, anti-tank/anti-personnel mines among other dangerous weapons.
According to the security operatives that conducted the search, the arms and ammunition were properly concealed with several layers of concrete and placed in coolers, drums and bags neatly wrapped.
Meantime, the accused persons have urged the court to not only order their immediate release from the custody of the DSS,  but to award them cost to the tune of N50billion, adding that contrary to allegation against them that their organisation was a terrorist group, Hezbollah is a political party in Lebanon.
Counsel to the accused persons,  Mr Ahmed Raji, SAN, produced pictures before the court showing where the said leading member of the organization, Dr Hussein Hajj, met with President Jonathan at the Aso Rock Villa, contending that the Nigerian government abused their right when it earlier dragged them before a Chief Magistrate Court in Karu, which they said lacked the competence to try them.
Meantime, the Federal Government, yesterday, asked the High Court to dismiss the plaintiff’s suit as grossly lacking in merit, saying it has uncovered more evidence to prove that the suspects belong to the military wing of Hezbolla which it described as a terrorist organization.
Counsel to the government, Mr Clifford Osagie, informed the court that the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke, SAN, has already entered a fresh six-count terrorism charge against them before the Federal High Court.
Osagie said, “We have proofs that the applicants belong to the military wing of Hezbolla which is a terrorist organization and in the coming days, this country will know more about them. The applicants had in their affidavit attached pictures of someone who was shaking hands with President Jonathan saying the President knew he was a member of Hezbollah. If they could do that, then why have they failed to attach the register of membership of Hezbollah as a political party?
“Likewise, we urge this court to disregard their argument that what were recovered from them were hunting-riffles. What we found were assorted weapons of terror and prohibited fire arms. They are people who hunt human beings and terrorists do so!
“Even if, without conceding that they were Air or Hunting- Riffles, our animals are protected in this country.  I do not know about their own country. Besides, they need to tell this court where they have gone hunting in this country. They want to kill us. They hunt human beings. They need to show this court that they have license for such deadly weapons.”
Relying on the case of Dokubo Asari Vs FRN, Osagie, maintained that where national security is in question, individual rights take second place.
“This is a case where the security of Nigeria has been called to question by individuals who have benefited so much from this country; who have made immense wealth from the liberality of this nation. The activities of the applicants threaten the national security of Nigeria and the corporate existence of this country. They cannot lift up their fundamental human rights as the basis to breach national security. The Attorney General, on June 20, 2013,  filed a six- count charge against them. Once the case is assigned and a date fixed for arraignment, their trial will commence.
“We therefore urge this court to dismiss this application in its entirety as being of no substance, frivolous and intended to pervert the course of justice. It is not in the interest of Nigeria or our national security. It lacks merit,” he added.
Meantime, the trial judge, Justice Ademola Adeniyi has adjourned the case till Monday to enable counsel to the applicants reply on points of law to the arguments of the Federal Government, even as he ordered that the suspects be remanded in the custody of the DSS.
Government had in its affidavit against the suit, maintained that “Mustapha Fawaz (2nd respondent) was arrested on May 11, 2013. His residences at Wonderland Amusement Park, Abuja, and 58 Adetokumbo Ademola Street Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, were duly searched in the course of which prohibited firearms and other incriminating items were discovered. A copy of the duly endorsed search warrant and pictures of the said firearms are hereby exhibited and marked exhibits 1 and 1(A-D) respectively.
“That further investigation led to the arrest of Abdullah Tahini (1st respondent) on May 12, 2013 at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, on his way to Egypt en route Lebanon. He was found to be in possession of  $61, 170.”
The government further told the court that “On May 26, 2013, the  3 Gaya Road, Nasarawa Local Government Area,  Kano residence of one Ahmed Hassan Taher, a relative of the 2nd respondent  (now at large) was searched. At the material time, Talal Roda (3rd respondent) and a suspect in the unfolding investigation was found in the house. He was arrested in the course of the search which was conducted in his presence as he had access to the hidden recesses discovered in the premises.
“A further search of the Kano residence led to the discovery of large cache of sophisticated weapons and weapons of mass destruction. It was a war arsenal. A copy of the duly endorsed search warrant executed on the residence as well as pictures of the discovered prohibited arms are exhibited and marked exhibits 2.”

BENJAMIN NJOKU...4 yrs after: Nigeria’s Michael Jackson blames self!

BENJAMIN NJOKU
Less than a week to mark the fourth year exit of  king of pop music, Michael Jackson who died on June 25, 2009, his Nigerian look-alike, Michael Eze popularly known as Walko-Chilko, has blamed no one  but himself for his inability to get in touch  with the “stage idol” while he lived.
Walko-Chilko
Walko-Chilko
Expressing regrets in a chat with Showtime during the week, Walko-Chilko  said, “ The greatest mistake I have ever made in my life was my inability to meet Michael before his death. While he lived, people advised me to send my photograph to him, but I never took the advice seriously until after his death.”
Speaking further, Walko-Chilko  revealed that when PMAN used him to welcome Marlon Jackson to the country a few years ago, the first question the latter asked was whether his brother knew his activities.
The Imo State-born pop singer who is returning to the spotlight with a new album, ‘Come Let’s Heal The World,’ described the late king of pop as “ the greatest entertainer that ever lived in the history of the world.”
However, explaining why he decided to imitate the late Michael Jackson’s lifestyle even after his death, Walko-Chilko noted that they share a lot in common. “I play pop and I’m a good dancer. I  believe I have the same look with Michael Jackson despite my colour. I admire Jackson very much and I believe even the life a black man is living today is imitated,” he explained.
The pop star’s new album is being dedicated to the late Michael Jackson’s Heal The World Foundation. According to him, Jackson’s legacy has to be sustained.  “I wrote the song in support of Michael Jackson’s Heal the World Foundation. It was written because children of the world need helping hands.”
The  10-track  album also features songs like ‘My Love is Free”  ‘Pretty Mama Jama”, “Peace for Africa”   and ‘African Heroes’.
According to Walko-Chilko, the songs in the album are mainly party songs that flow with the trend.

Hmmm...Spain present Nigeria with mission improbable

FORTALEZA (AFP) – Buoyed by their record-breaking 10-0 rout of Tahiti at the Confederations Cup, Spain approach Sunday’s final Group B fixture against Nigeria needing just a point to secure a place in the semi-finals.
Thursday’s thrashing of the Pacific islanders made Spain the first team to win a game by a 10-goal margin at the finals of a FIFA tournament, and only the second to score 10 after Hungary’s 10-1 thrashing of El Salvador at the 1982 World Cup.
Fernando Torres scored four goals, and David Villa three, but perhaps the most pleasing aspect for coach Vicente del Bosque was the fact he was able to rest almost his entire first-choice starting XI.
Of the team that began the opening 2-1 win over Uruguay, only centre-back Sergio Ramos kept his place, and the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas could all return against Nigeria.
Del Bosque’s shrewd squad management was a key feature of Spain’s successes at the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012, and midfielder David Silva says rotation is something the players fully accept.
“We’re always ready to step up when we get the chance,” said the Manchester City midfielder, who scored twice in the Tahiti romp.
Spain’s strong start to the tournament means they go into Sunday’s match at Fortaleza’s Estadio Castelao within touching distance of the last four.
Although they require a point to make sure of a semi-final place, they would need to lose to Nigeria by at least four goals to stand any chance of being overhauled.
The situation is rather more taxing for Stephen Keshi’s Nigeria, who were beaten 2-1 by Uruguay in Salvador on Thursday and enter Sunday’s game level on points with the South American champions.
If Uruguay, as expected, record a handsome win over Tahiti, Nigeria will only be able to reach the last four with a victory over the world and European champions, but coach Keshi says he has not given up hope.
“Everything is achievable,” he said.
“It depends how much desire you have in you, how much you want it, and how much luck you’ve got on your side. I can’t question the boys’ commitment or loyalty.”
Keshi’s plans for the game have been complicated by an injury to AC Milan forward Nnamdi Oduamadi, scorer of a hat-trick in the 6-1 win over Tahiti, who had to come off against Uruguay with an apparent ankle injury.
Del Bosque is expected to recall his leading lights, but Torres and Villa will each hope they have done enough to be selected ahead of Valencia striker Roberto Soldado.
The two sides have met before just once, in a group game at the 1998 World Cup in France, when Nigeria, then Olympic champions, claimed a 3-2 win that sowed the seeds of the Spaniards’ group-phase elimination.
It remains the only time Spain have lost to African opposition, but the balance of power in international football has tilted sharply since then.
While Nigeria saw an 18-game unbeaten run come to an end against Uruguay, Spain have not lost at a tournament since a shock defeat by Switzerland in the opening game of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Barack Obama to defer to Mandela family on possible visit

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama will defer to Nelson Mandela’s family on whether he will visit the ailing anti-apartheid icon during his trip to South Africa next week, a top aide said Friday.
The possibility of a meeting between the first black presidents of both South Africa and the United States has been hotly anticipated for years.
But the declining health of Mandela, 94, who has been fighting a lung infection, and Obama’s failure to visit South Africa until his second term, have left the prospect in doubt.
“We … are going to be very deferential to the Mandela family in terms of any interaction the president may have with the Mandela family or Nelson Mandela,” said Ben Rhodes, a deputy US national security advisor.
“Ultimately, we want whatever is in the best interests of his health and the peace of mind of the Mandela family,” said Rhodes.
“We will be in touch with them. If he has an opportunity to see the family in some capacity, that’s certainly something that we may do.”
Mandela spent his 14th day in a Pretoria hospital on Thursday, where he has been in a serious condition with a lung infection.
Former South African president Thabo Mbeki said Thursday that Mandela’s health is improving, and that he is not going to “die tomorrow” despite a growing acceptance in his nation of his mortality.
Obama will stay overnight in Johannesburg and Cape Town during his trip, and plans to visit Robben Island, where Mandela was once imprisoned.
Rhodes said that Obama’s visit to the island, where Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years in prison, would be an “important and powerful symbol” of the president’s respect for Mandela, one of his personal heroes.
Obama met Mandela soon after he was elected a senator in 2005, when the former South African president was in Washington.
The two have spoken several times since on the telephone.
Obama’s wife, Michelle, was able to pay a visit to the anti-apartheid icon during her trip to Africa two years ago, and she said it was the most moving moment of her visit.

Weeping In Court As Judge Dismisses Case Of Extra-Judicial Murder

It was a pitiable sight at the Anambra State High Court complex in Awka Thursday, as members of the family of the late Onyeka Agupugo from Agulu in Anaocha local government area of Anambra State, who was murdered by the police at a check point in Agulu on Agust 11, 2010, wept uncontrollably when a High Court Judge dismissed the case of the murder for lack of merit.
Onyeka, 29, who was a building contractor before his death, was riding on a motorcycle with another person when the police accosted them at the popular Nwagu junction in Agulu only for one of the policemen to fire at him on the chest following a minor argument over how much to part with.
Onyeka’s wife, Chinenye, who was four months pregnant when the husband was murdered and her mother in-law, Mrs. Florence Agupugo, caused a stir at the court premises by shedding tears and wailing, and it took the intervention of their relations who accompanied them to court to calm them down. They had gone to court to enforce the fundamental right of their husband and son.
Against their expectation, however, the presiding judge, Justice C.A. Emembolu, in dismissing the matter brought to court by Chinenye and her mother in- law, held that ‘the right to life dies when the owner dies.’
Chinenye, who told Saturday Vanguard that the child she put to bed after the death of her husband is one year and four months at present, said her worry is that she has nobody to take care of her and the child, since her late husband was the breadwinner of the family.
Amidst sobs she said: “After the death of my husband, the police promised to come to our aide, but up till now, nothing has been done.  Rather, they are in court defending the person who killed my husband and on top of that the Judge has dismissed the matter. I am confused and this judgment has brought back the memories of what I went through immediately I was informed of the death of my husband.
“Some people are treating this matter as if it was a fowl that was killed, forgetting that it was a full fledged human being who had family and other relations to cater for.
“We had gone to court hoping that court would prevail on the police to pay compensation to the family, but here we are going home dejected. Our lawyer has told us that he will appeal the judgment and we are giving him the go ahead.

Inside the Mindset of a Nigerian Suicide Bomber>Boko haram

abdulmutallab No one ever lacks a good reason for suicide. – Cesare Paverse
Until June 16, 2011 suicide bombing was a distant phenomena few ever thought could occur in this realm. The harsh economic climate and heated geo-political space notwithstanding, it is very rare to see Nigerians, a people widely adjudged as the happiest on the face of the earth, take their own lives. It was even more unimaginable that someday, a Nigerian irrespective of whatever influence, will devise violent and extreme actions capable of brutally terminating his life, and extending the same deadly gestures to those around him.
So when Umaru Abdulmutallab, a 22-year-old Nigerian from an affluent background attempted to become the country’s first suicide bomber on a US-bound flight on Christmas Day 2009, many among his compatriots questioned his nationality, others his sanity.
Nigerians can’t be suicide bombers, it was reiterated.
Then the dreaded happened. Mohammed Manga, a 35-year-old Nigerian male, signed his name in the most gory of inks as the first suicide bomber ever to strike in the country. A recruit of extremist Islamic sect Boko Haram, Manga blew himself up in front of Nigeria’s police headquarters in Abuja, two and half years after Mutallab’s first unsuccessful attempt to set the record aboard the American airliner.
Here comes the multimillion dollar question, what could make a Nigerian volunteer to be a suicide bomber?
Could it be the prevailing unemployment situation in the country which has made the teeming able-bodied youths roaming the northern part of the country a potential breed for terror recruiters? Maybe it is the lure of a few thousand dollars that make potential volunteers throw reasons to the winds and get blown up. Perhaps it is in the hatred indoctrinated into these would-be suicide bombers by extremist Islamic preachers at an early age.
Like his counterparts in Arabia or elsewhere around the world, research has proven that money, education or the lack of both, is not a determinant factor that would either motivate or hinder a would be Nigerian suicide bomber. If it will be recalled, Abdulmutallab was from an illustrious home and had the best education money could offer. Mohammed Manga on the other hand was described as a fairly successful businessman.
In Robert Lamb’s How Suicide Bombers Work, both the glamorization of martyrdom and its establishment as a gateway to rewards in the afterlife are central, yet universal factors in the suicide bomber equation.
The glamorization of matyrdom is appealing to the often young and naive Nigerian suicide bomber, whose average age bracket is put between 18 – 24.  For this set of people, the thoughts that his name becomes immortal is overwhelming. The pride, prospect and glamour at the ‘sense of a holy mission’ is appealing, and this sadly, is a bait their manipulative handlers exploit to the fullest.
‘A gateway to rewards in the afterlife’ should not be ruled out as a motivating factor for the Nigerian suicide bomber. The thoughts of seventy-two virgins for martyrs who paid the supreme price for fighting Allah’s cause is too strong to be relegated to the background. Likewise are the quests to avenge perceived political tyranny and economic imbalances.
So how does the Nigerian suicide bomber justify the killings of innocent souls? Israeli psychologists eager to understand the mindset of militant Islamic extremists postulate that at this point in the mindset of the suicide bomber, no one perhaps except for members of his sect is innocent. He is not about killing the innocent, he is killing the enemy.

It is known that the war against men of the underworld is a continuous battle that the government is saddled to fight. It seems like the government is gaining

Foluso Adebanjo, paraded 36 suspected robbers and kidnappers in Benin City, while parading them, he reiterated his call to criminals and cultists to leave the state or be â€Å“crushed,” just as he solicited the cooperation of members of the public to give useful information to the police.

While hailing the ban on Okada in the state capital, the CP said about 90 per cent of crimes being committed in the state were carried out with motorcycles.

He said the suspects were arrested in different locations in the state with cache of arms, including AK47 riffle, two AK 47 rifle magazines, 23 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, two Magnum pump action guns, one English-made cut to size double barrel gun and 107 live cartridges, adding that the kidnappers among them were involved in the abduction of some foreigners and members of the Nigeria Union of
Teachers few weeks ago who were arrested in their hideouts.

Insisting that the ban on commercial
motorcycles will help check the excesses of criminals in the state, Adebanjo said â€Å“the ban on Okada is a very good thing and for security purposes. A lot of crimes being committed in Benin City are bike-related. They use bike to rob people, kill people and even cultists use bikes to
operate.

â€Å“So we have no fear that the ban on Okada will increase crime, we are fully prepared to take care of that. These people arrested failed to heed to my earlier call that they should repent or face the fire power of the police. We are going to charge them to court. I am also advising others to repent or leave the state because we will not tolerate cultism, killings and robbery in Edo

Kanye West no longer interested in selling a million record

Has Kanye changed since dating Kim K? He's so nonchalant these days. He performed at the Governor's Ball over the weekend and in one of his trade mark rants, declared he's no longer interested in being on the radio or selling a million records...

 Kanye told the crowd,
"You know with this album, we ain’t drop no single to radio. We ain’t got no big NBA campaign or nothing like that. Shit, we ain’t even got no cover. We just made some real music. And you know, back when I used to make albums and shit, like a couple years ago, three, four years ago, we’d go away and work on an album for like five months or so, and we’d always have to hold the album ’til like August or September ’til the perfect moment and shit, ’cause it means that I think you gon’ sell more ’cause you get more audience and radio and shit. But honestly, at this point, when I listen to radio, that ain’t where I wanna be no more. Honestly, at this point, I could give a f**k about selling a million records. As long as I put out an album for the summer that y’all can rock to all motherfucking summer. And I don’t give a fuck to what the label tell me; I’m gon’ sell more records. ‘Cause at this point, I don’t really give a f**k about outside opinions."

NIGERIA SINGER Obiora Obiwon clocks 36

The question making rounds around Social Media circles lately has been “Where is Obiwon?”. Finally, it gets an answer on the 9th of June 2013, the 36th birthday of the r’n’b-singer-turned-urban-gospel-minister, Obiora Obiwon.

In response to enthusiasts and lovers of his music, Obiwon returns as recording artiste with a techno-infused HipHop song entitled “Testify”. On the song he elicits the help of gospel music elite, Mike Abdul of the Midnight Crew, who adds a fuji-flavoured cameo to the already infectious groove. On the production, Obiora continues to synergize with Phat-E – credited with “Obi Mu O” the original version and the remix and the inspirational “F.a.t.h.e.r 2.0” single. The result is an undeniable jam filled with zest and celebration over strongly spirited but yet simple faith-based lyrics.

Obiwon who announced a full-time gospel music ministry five years ago in 2008 has steadily impacted the gospel music and Christian events scene nationwide with his “The Rebirth Band” and continues to play roles in the wedding events scene, roles not often showcased in mainstream media.

Expect to hear much more from Obiwon in coming weeks and months as he finalizes a long overdue third album.
